Working with Artists: Developing Your Project
Working with Artists: Developing Your Project is a day-long professional development programme. Hosted in the heart of Camden (a historic place for creatives and artists), this course equips participants with the tools needed to develop, plan, and execute successful artist collaborations with multiple stakeholders. By the end of the day, all attendees will have developed the outline of an artist brief.
We will cover
  • Shaping your project and writing a brief
  • Defining your audience and approach
  • Resourcing and budgets
  • Finding your artist(s): Approach and Selection
  • Laying the groundwork for success
Is this for you?
  • This course is ideal for individuals who are keen to work with artists but require additional support in developing and planning their projects and getting things going. You may be a culture officer, community manager, archivist, or charity worker (the list is endless!). Whether you are planning a temporary display, a commission, a residency, or a community project, this course will provide the necessary toolkit and start for a successful collaboration.
Course leader
  • Ella is the Founder and Director of Art School Plus. She also is a Henry Moore Foundation Trustee and sits on the Development Board of the ICA (Institute of Contemporary Arts).
In the past, Ella has worked for major artists including Sir Antony Gormley, Yinka Shonibare and Temitayo Ogunbiyi. Her consultancy work has seen her working on writing Newham’s bid to be Borough of Culture, and developing leadership training for creatives for the British Council.
