Anna Reading
Anna is a London based Artist with a socially engaged practice spanning sculpture, performance, drawing and text. Her work celebrates growth and survival within inhospitable environments across human and non-human worlds.
Anna is a graduate of Central St Martins BA Sculpture (2010) and Slade School of Fine Art MfA Sculpture (2017). After graduating she was selected for Bloomberg New Contemporaries and was Artist in Residence at Academy for Visual Arts in Hong Kong (2017). Anna won the Mark Tanner Sculpture Award 2018 – 2019. The resultant solo exhibition titled ‘The Pothole’, toured the UK. In 2021 Anna was included as part of Contemporary Sculpture Fulmer. Anna is an Associate Lecturer based at Central St Martins and works with the arts charity ACAVA facilitating collaborative co-creation workshops. Anna is currently working on her first public artwork for Lewisham High Street.
For Anna, working alongside Art School Plus will be an invaluable asset, helping her to recognise professional practice surrounding the creation of public artworks. Anna hopes to become part of an informed and supportive network to help her to continue to create work in response to site, community and environment.
