Toby Tobias Kidd
Toby Tobias Kidd is a multidisciplinary artist interested in publics and dialogue, and a graduate of the Royal College of Art Contemporary Arts Practice programme, where her specialised the Public Sphere. His practice uses sound, sculpture, text, video, and performative events with the belief that art is an integral part of shaping the world.
Toby is a founding member of the experimental art-pop group Hatcham Social, currently releasing through Fierce Panda Records, and he works in collaboration with Adele Lazzeri in the PRAGMATA collective, developing collaborative, curatorial and pedagogical projects and research. Public projects include working with Coops UK on radical business concepts; forming the collective DIY record label Crocodile Laboratories; and working with Future Narratives Lab as an associate, developing research into the stories that shape our present and future ideologies.
For Toby, Art School Plus offers an exciting opportunity to develop his practice along with his understanding of the commissioning and processes involved in working in artmaking in the Public Realm, along with meeting and working with like- minded and interesting people.
